About Founder
Mr. Basant Poddar, the driving force behind this venture and the project, has over the course of his several decades of experience in mining, earned several accolades from various government agencies for his efforts in afforestation of the mining areas and implementing local community upliftment programs from the early 2000s, well before CSR became an industry norm.
A sole public-private partnership with the Ministry of Railways led to the commissioning in 2011 of a 12 km railway line from the mining areas to the coast, eliminating the need for several thousand trucks traversing their path through small villages, reducing congestion, and avoiding millions of tons of carbon emissions in the process.
